FAQs

What if a guest is ‘not into cooking’?

Your guests may participate at whatever level they are comfortable with. Our chef instructor(s) will encourage involvement, but your guests are welcome to simply visit, sip wine or relax should they choose. We do find that as the event gets underway, even the most reluctant cook can become an active participant!

What if we want to stay after our allotted event time?

We time our parties so that your event is not rushed, yet ends at the agreed upon timeframe. If your group wishes to stay longer and we are able to accommodate that request, additional event fees such as kitchen rental will be charged. Please note an event extension is subject to kitchen availability.

Is gratuity automatically included onto my event bill?

Yes, but only on cooking parties, beverage and food tabs, and corking fees. A gratuity of 20% is automatically added onto the final bill which goes directly to the staff working your event.

Do our guests need to know anything prior to the event?

Let your guests know to wear comfortable clothing and non-skid comfortable shoes and to be prepared to have a lot of fun!

How do I choose our menu?

Our culinary team has created a list of menus and event themes that include recipes which have stood the test of time and are guaranteed to satisfy even the most discerning palate. You may choose from those menus or you may work with our event coordinator to customize your own.

How do I plan an event at Art & Soul?

Our event coordinator will be assigned to you and will be your point of contact from the initial stages of planning to the day of your event. She/he will walk you through the process of planning your event and guide you through each decision. The process is quick and easy.

Can we have wine or beer?

Absolutely! Art & Soul offers a fantastic, food-friendly and affordable wine list to ensure that your meal may be enjoyed to the fullest. We also offer a quality selection of local and imported beer, as well as a select variety of spirits at your request.

what people are saying about our events:

"Mary, thank you for a fabulous afternoon! Everything was perfect! The bride was thrilled as were the hostesses. A friend of mine, booked an event based on my grand reviews. Thank you and the entire staff and chef!  110% satisfied!"

-Sandy Ludwig, Lincoln NE

“We all agreed this was one of our best festivals we have had. Your entire staff was just fantastic and so good with the kids. I actually felt pretty relaxed! The art project was perfect and just what I was hoping for. The kids learned skills and also had a ton of fun. I thought the day flew by and the timing of everything was also great. And the food activities were age-appropriate, yet presented a challenge to the kids. Chef Kris and Hannah were great in the kitchen. All-in-all, I cannot thank you enough!”

 – Jill Bird, Coordinator, Southeast Nebraska Regional Program

“Recently, we hosted a wine and cooking event at Art & Soul (for 20) that included a wine and food pairing and a cooking demonstration by Chef Kris. The fresh food prepared for us by Chef Kris was excellent as were the premium wines we sampled. Staff, Justina, Mary and Kris, who were professional and very easy to work with, created a wonderful evening that was appreciated by all! We recommend that you visit Art & Soul and take advantage of the many opportunities for Art, Art Classes, Food, Cooking Classes and Wines.”

- Wynn Mehlhaff, Lincoln NE

“Wine and cooking!  What could be a more perfect, delicious match!  My friends and I signed up immediately for Art & Soul’s Wine Excursion and Cooking Class and had a delightful afternoon and evening!  Driving out to Slattery Vintage Estates in Nehawka was beautiful as we soaked up the end of fall’s beautiful colors!  Nestled  in a quiet rural setting, we sampled delicious Nebraska wines matched with savory cheeses in their rustic tasting room.   We returned to Art & Soul for more wine incorporated into cooking!   Instructed by Lincoln’s  vivacious chef, Judy Gilliard, (better known as Judy Ala Carte on Ch. 10/11), she artistically matched different wines with each course she made.  We began with  a Mixed Green Salad with Blackcurrant Mustard Vinaigrette while visiting and learning cooking tips as she put together a succulent Coq Au Vin and creamy risotto.   We all helped in the preparation in Art & Soul’s beautiful state of the art kitchen!   Our meal ended with ramekins of  absolutely wonderful Chocolate Pots, that oozed warm chocolate centers!   Our dessert wine, infused with chocolate, capped off our  fabulous meal!    Thank you, Mary and  Katie at Art & Soul,  for such a fun, delicious experience that also included complimentary wine glasses and spatulas!   We can’t wait to do it again!”

-Deb Sloup, Seward NE

"I just wanted to thank you and everyone at Art & Soul for a wonderful experience on Saturday!!  People had so much fun and really loved it!  Chef Robyn and Cassidy were so awesome!  You helped us treat Rachel, the bride-to-be, to a very special day.  We all made a memory that will last a long time."
